Xiao Ya Tou in Tanjong Pagar

4 Girls went on a date one day and we decide to drop by Xiao Ya Tou to try out the fusion dishes. Here are what we had and I must say the price tag isn't wallet friendly. Food Quality is there but I wish that there was more WOW factor.

The cute yet nostalgic posters hanging on all walls, Chinese Lanterns and metal gates. If you look closely at the posters, you might find something interesting too! I'm not going to spoil the fun for you.

Complimentary Achar from the restaurant, sourish and spicy at the same time. A great appetizer to start with!

I absolutely love the Crispy Otak Otak Rolls ($12). The Otak packed a punch and complimented the crispy skin wrapped around. I would gladly order another plate of this to go with beer.

Thanks to the staff's recommendation, we ordered the Drunken Flower Clams ($23). The broth was sweet and addictive with a slight spicy kick. The clams were yummy and it was a huge bowl for $23!

For Mains, we ordered the XYT Hokkien Mee ($16) which is Xiao Ya Tou's version of Stir- Fried Hokkien Mee. I must say this is an expensive Hokkien Mee. Though the flavour of the broth was present in every mouthful, I feel that we could always get a cheaper alternative outside.

We also ordered the XYT Lu Rou Fan ($13). This is no typical Lu Rou Fan, it is made from braised Wagyu Beef and served with a poached egg.

Let's try the Char Siew shall we? The Kurobuta Char Siew ($19) did not amaze us thou the charred bits were really addictive.

We need a balance diet guys, so we ordered the Spicy Brussels Sprouts ($14). It consist of Minced Chicken, Chye Po and Chilli Jam. I really hate eating Brussels Sprouts but the one at XYT made it really enjoyable, maybe it's the mince chicken and Chye Po mixture.

Something to share: The White Sangria ($69) is made up of white wine, green apple, passion fruit, peach, orange, lime and lemon. We loved the fruity blast mixed in the white wine, A good balance overall.

LE Restaurant & Bar - Avant-Garde Dining Concept

LÈ Restaurant & Bar is an avant-garde dining concept that seeks to evoke diners with a sensuous and voguish dining experience like never before. Encompassing an exclusive modern Chinese restaurant and an intimate chic bar offering ingeniously created Asian-inspired tapas and cocktails, expect a redefinition of Chinese dining on a whole new level.

Went there with the company for the Annual Chinese New Year Dinner and below are the visuals.

Food has nothing for me to pick on, Service was good, staff were attentive and smiley. Overall experience I enjoyed myself. I love the Open Concept Kitchen where we could see the chefs working each dish from Start to completion.

Something Not To Be Missed: Le Special - the local dessert of Ice Kacang is spiked with curaçao, crème de menthe, pomegranate syrup and spiced rum, sweetened with gula melaka with Red Bean at the bottom, it left me craving for more.. I'm definitely going back for it.

This dish that looks like tauhu goreng is nothing like it. These juicy handmade Japanese tofu is fried to a beautiful brown colour and and topped with bonito flakes and drizzled with a unique sauce that I couldn't tell. Haha. But nonetheless it was a wonder option to the normal agedashi tofu! :)

Another fusion another surprise. Udon with carbonara sauce. Wow! The udon were al Dante as how we describe pasta that is well done . Coated with the creamy Carbonara sauce and topped with the runny sunny side up, it provides you with a option on whether to mix the egg yolk in or to slurp on it on it's own!
Carbonara Udon - $12.60

Japanese Mushroom Pizza with lots of mushrooms that you will feel it's worth every cent! Hahaha.
Kinoko Pizza - $12.60

Beef Steak that is cooked over a long time on slow fire ensures all the juices are locked in . Paired with my favorite side - potato wedges, this is a enjoyable dish :)
New Zealand Beef Steak - $21.00

Beef Shabu Shabu - everybody scream!!  Thinly sliced beef to be brushed in the special Mirin & bonito flake broth with fresh vegetables . The broth was so good, we actually asked if there was a refill! :D

Matsu Sushi Moriawase - $31.00

Thick cuts of Rib-Eye for diners to BBQ themselves, I really love these D-I-Y kind of feeling, I'm sure you will enjoy it too! Non beef eaters have another delicious Option, it's Pork Belly! Woohoo!

Apple Pie
Nothing to shout about their Apple Pie, Although I love the Crumbly Top.
