Childhood Memory - Hainan Chicken Rice Ball

This has to be my favourite-est chicken rice stall to date! I remember coming here since young, anticipating the cute balls of chicken rice to arrive as a pair in front of me. The Tau Pok Soup which I will drizzle over the rice balls to see them fall apart, and the tender and moist chicken breast meat(Yes, you've read, Tender & moist chicken breast meat). They only serve White Chicken and Lor Sio Bak(braised pork belly), but it's enough to keep me going for years!

I've been frequently visiting this place since I was a little girl. My family can't seem to find another one that is just as good, maybe we are just addicted to this place. GORDON RAMSEY vs SG HAWKER HEROS

Recently, there's been great concerns regarding the decline of local hawker culture and whether Michelin-starred accreditations would encourage fresh blood to join the trade and preserve our beloved heritage. In response to this, on 5th June, a group of well-known bloggers teamed up with SingTel to challenge Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay to take on Singapore's favourite hawkers in a huge cook-off.

And now, the time has come for Gordon Ramsey to come Visit our Sunny Shores and also to Battle it out against our Singapore Local Hawker Heros. Together with Singtel, Its Going to be a HUGE Event. And I want to be part of it too! 

So How do you catch a glimpse of Chef Gordon Ramsey Himself? EASY!

Just Appear at Newton Circus Food Center on 7 JULY 2013 from 6.30PM onwards and you get to see GORDON RAMSEY HIMSELF! 

And who is Chef Gordon Ramsey going to Pit himself against? Its going to be Chilli Crab From Jumbo Seafood, 328 Katong Laksa and Mdm Foo's Chicken Rice. OH SUCH LOCAL FLAVOURS! So Lets all head over to find out if Gordon Ramsey Has What It Takes as a 13 Starred Michelin Chef to be Fighting Against our local Flavours.

Although sometimes I would feel that Jumbo Seafood is not THAT GOOD as compared to some other places for Crab, But Maybe their quality is assured therefore making themselves famous with the locals and foreigners. I would not doubt the 328 Katong Laksa as I Love it to bits myself. Hahaha. And For Chicken Rice, I heard that Tian Tian Chicken rice has its own crowd of customers, but I have yet to try it out, so I could not verdict on that. But Nevertheless, It would still be a great showdown on 7 July 2013!
