Spicy Thai Thai Cafe New Menu - Healthier Options for everyone!

I've been to Spicy Thai Thai Cafe many times and everytime, they surprise me with their new creation. This time I'm back to try their Thai-Chinese Dishes which are good for friends who don't take spicy food or friends who are looking for lighter options. Read on to find out more!

First, I would like to recommend Spicy Thai Thai Cafe's Claypot Coconut Tom Yum Soup $18 (small) / $28 (big). The broth is the best I've had in Singapore, I kid you not. And being served in a claypot ensures that the soup stays warm for a long time. Highly recommend!

Next up, a great dish to have for this Chinese New Year - Deep Fried Sea Bass with Thai Turmeric Sauce 泰式酥炸黄酱汁鲈鱼 or the Thai Sambal Sea Bass 泰式阿毵鲈鱼 - Seasonal Price . I'm personally more inclined to the Thai Sambal Sea Bass as the Sambal they used taste so good with everything! The Thai Turmeric Sauce sea bass is the option to go without the heat.

Mama always say to have some greens in your diet for a balanced meal. So here we have the triple emerald happiness. Haha. Stir-Fry Broccoli with Scallops 干贝炒西兰花 $20Stir-Fry Garlic Baby Sweet Potato Leaves 小番薯叶炒蒜蓉 $10.

I especially love the Jade Noodles with Thai Pork Meatballs - $6/portion (pic shows 3 portion) because I'm not a fan of greens. The jade noodles were cooked just right and the thai pork meatballs were so good I had to resist myself from popping them all into my mouth.

Spicy Thai Thai Cafe does a really good Dill Omelette, but what happens when you put them into a great broth and all the flavours just explode in every mouthful of soup? The Kaeng Som Cha Om 泰式野菜煎蛋辣汤 $18 is the choice to go if you think eating a normal omelette is too mainstream. This Omelette soup is nothing like those Eggy soup that we have at home. This is a fried omelette cooked in a spicy & sourish soup. Slurrrrp~

Thank you Spicy Thai Thai for the wonderful dishes this time round. Check them out for any slots for your last minute CNY dinner get together and impress your friends!

Four Seasons Hotel - Dive in to a world of cheese & Desserts at One-Ninety Restaurant

During the Christmas Season, I was invited to Four Seasons for a great catch up with some of my fellow blogger friends. check out what I had! I'm stuffed!

Authentic Western and Asian cuisine takes centre stage in an open dining concept at the award-winning One-Ninety Restaurant. Featuring a Theatre Kitchen, watch the chefs showcase their culinary magic à la minute over apple-wood fired grills, brick pizza oven and tandoor oven.

Lets's take a look at the Semi-Buffet spread first. There are plenty appetizers and Cold Cuts, Cheese and desserts to choose from. Appetizers include ocean-fresh seafood salads with fresh herbs from the Four Seasons herb garden, charcuterie and cold cuts; while sweet delights abound on the dessert spread with the signature Mango Cheesecake, Red Velvet and Hazelnut Royaltine cakes by Pastry Chef Audrey Yee, a Four Seasons veteran and graduate of the renowned Le Cordon Bleu School in London.

Taste hearty epicurean fare at the signature Market Fresh Semi-Buffet, where delectable appetizers, high quality imported cheeses from France and Italy, and decadent desserts are served free-flow on the table spread, and changed daily according to the freshest and finest seasonal produce that chefs source for the day. This is complemented with a choice of extensive chef-crafted entrées.

Before we move on, lets have some desserts.

We got to try out 4 of the New Cocktails that night:
Passion fruit Caipirinha - Brazil's national cocktail made with Cachaça, sugar, and lime.
One–Ninety Spritz - A Spritz style cocktail consist of a low alcohol aperitivo, topped up with sparkling wine.
Violets & Cucumber Gin & Tonic - Tempus Fugit Violette Liqueur is a less sweet version of a violet flower liqueur.
Ginger Mojito - A twist on a classic Mojito, using Plantation 3 Star Rum which is a blend of 3 rum from single islands (Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados).

My personal favourite has to be the Passionfruit Caipirinha!

Signature Truffle Foccacia: The Executive Chef’s secret recipe, this used to be served to VIP guests only until multiple requests persuaded Four seasons to put it onto the menu! An innocuous-looking dish that is thoroughly addictive, with shaved truffle and 4 types of cheese including mascarpone cheese. This is a Must Order for every table! Please do!!

We moved on to the mains, yes we had 8 mains to go!

Fusilli Puttanesca: Literally translating to “in the style of prostitutes” supposedly due to the captivation from the aroma. This tomato-based pasta is packed with a good punch of capers, olives and basil.

Ligurian Fillet of Sea Bass: Cooked during a heart-warming family gathering, this is usually presented by an elderly member of the family as comfort food for the young. It evokes childhood memories for many who reside in Italy.

Mediterranean Octopus:  Imported and marinated with herbs and spices of Mediterranean influence, the octopus is very tender, grilled over apple-wood fire to enhance the texture and seal the flavors within. Refreshing and light on the palate.

Australian Black Angus (200-dau grain-fed tenderloin 200g): The leanest cut of premium meat this is good for those mindful of their weight but still wish to enjoy succulent meat. Extremely tender and grilled to perfection with the delicious aroma of apple-wood, this signature steak from One-Ninety Restaurant is a must-try.

Murgh Makhani Butter Chicken: A dish famous in the North of India, boneless cuts of chicken are marinated in tandoori paste and put into the oven before simmering further in tomato gravy with cream and fenugreek leaves before serving.

One-Ninety Laksa: Live prawns from the watertank in the kitchen, scallops, cockles, quail eggs and a thick broth – these are the highlight in the bowl of One-Ninety Laksa. They are using the same recipe since day one, hence many regular customers keep coming back for more even till today!

Cantonese style Hor Fun: You would think "Why do I want to have Hor Fun at an atas place? I've for more things to try!" Did you know, this is considered their Celebrity Dish as it attracts artistes and influential people into the restaurant with its signature wok hei finish. With generous portions of seafood, pamper yourself lavishly with this local dish in 5 star setting.  This is the reason enough for you to eat Hor fun in a 5 Star Hotel!

Move away Instant Noodles, here comes instant Macaroni!

Yes, you read it, it's Instant Macaroni! Say goodbye to the days of instant noodles only.

Kay's Instant Macaroni comes in 5 different flavours - Chicken, Curry, Tom Yum, Anchovy and Vegetable.

Each packet of Kay's instant macaroni is produced with top grade 100% durum wheat semolina and there is no bitter aftertaste. Best of all, it only needs 3 minutes of cooking time, whereas normal pasta needs at least 8-12 minutes!

No need to boil your soup and macaroni separated anymore because Kay's instant macaroni is non waxed nor fried. No preservatives and it is a local produced Halal product. So everyone can enjoy!

I wasn't feeling so well for the past few days, and I've got a bad throat, so there were many things I couldn't eat. Then I remembered that I had a few packets of the instant macaroni so I cooked the anchovy flavoured one.

Cooking was really easy, just bring water to boil, throw in macaroni and seasoning powder, gently stir and watch your macaroni cook within 3 minutes. You may add in whatever ingredients you like or you can be lazy like me, just add in some fried onions to enhance the flavour will do!

You can get Kay's Macaroni in a pack of 3s at all Sheng Shiong or even on Qoo10!
Now Available @ Qoo10 (Shop Online)

Like and Share our page for more updates

Check out the list to find an outlet nearest to you!

Thank you Kay's for the delicious and easy to prepare macaroni!

New Curves for the New Year with Expressions Detonix-S Slimming Treatment!

HEYYYYYYYYYY! Chinese New Year is round the corner and I am looking for ways to cut down those inches around my body. And I think the beauties at Expressions heard me and I was invited to try out the Detonix-S Slimming System treatment at their Regency house outlet! Read on to find out how you can cut those inches to look fab this CNY!

What is Detonix-S Detoxification and Slimming System
Is a Revolutionary Treatment for body Contouring regime. Detonix use a patented formula cream which is activated by the multi-polar Thermal Blanket to provide you a safe, pleasant, and relaxing experience to achieve the curve & contour you desire.

Key Benefits of Detonix-S System for Detoxification and Slimming
  • Cellulite is dramatically reduced, body is detoxfied
  • It takes off inches from waist, hips and thighs
  • Lowered fat contents and improved circulation that leads to a healthier body overall

Let me share with you my experience with the Detonix-S treatment.

I was first weigh and all the information was visible from the special weighing machine they used. It showed me my body fat percentage and also the visceral fat around my organs. My consultant - Chloe explained to me the best range for my body, so everyone's range is different.

Then I am given a glass of warm water to keep my body hydrated for the treatment. NOTE: they gave me the water only after the weigh-in, so no water weight or cheat feelings or whatsoever.

After that, I am brought into the treatment room where we first get a massage from the therapist with the patented formula cream which helps the detox later on with the machine. I feel like a chicken being rubbed in with the seasoning going to be cooked. Because after that, you will be wrapped in a layer of plastic first, then wrapped up in the Multi-Polar Thermal Blanket. Temperature is set at 50 Deg C first to allow the body to slowly adjust to the heat.

Then it was cooking time! Haha, I meant treatment time. The whole treatment session lasts for about 45 minutes. I fell asleep in the first 15-20 minutes and then I was woken up to replenish my water intake. And then i dozed off for awhile again before waking up to a little discomfort as I felt very cooped up. It wasn't for another 5-10 minutes, I was relieved from the thermal blanket.

I sweat alot and my sweat was yellow. Different people's sweat will be different in colour, example like Whitish, Yellowish, Blackish depending on your health condition.

After we cleaned up, we went to weigh again. My weight did not go down but my fat percentage went down by 4%! I'm amazed and photos showed that my body's difference.

Sorry for the unglam shot but I sincerely want to show you guys the difference and I believe that if you continue to do the treatment, results will be really obvious.

So please do not hesitate to call Expressions now! Look for Chloe at Regency House outlet in Orchard!

The Flying Noodles from HANA Japanese Restaurant

With all the hype around the HANA Flying noodles, we #MCSCBabes had to check it out for ourselves! We made a reservation in advance(thank god) and was in when the restaurant opened! There was a Long snaking queue for those who did not make their reservation, so please remember to make your reservation guys! We first thought that we had to queue to get in despite having a reservation haha.

We first ordered a thirst quencher, the Over the top Apple Cider ($25). An alcoholic slushie with sour candy snakes to get your groove on anytime of the day. *drink in moderation*

Then the star of the day: Flying Truffle Somen ($25) and Flying Salted Egg Skinny Udon ($18).
I personally could not decide which one i liked better. Who would ever knew that Salted Egg and Udon would go together so well. We had to ask for a second serving of the Salted Egg sauce. SHIOOOOOK!

I would recommend that you start with the Salted Egg Yolk Udon first before moving on to the truffle somen as the truffle taste will overwhelm all other flavours. Haha. The truffle somen is a real delight to have as well. Do note that both noodles are served cold, so no rush to consume them. Snap as much photos as you would like first before digging in, but I bet you can't hold out for more than 10minutes. Haha.

Another insta-worth item at HANA would be their grid boxes. You can choose from 3 x 3 or 4 x 3. You get a little of everything and it's great for sharing too! We chose the 4 x 3 grid box ($38) to share and we loved it! Everyone had a enough to go around for 4 ladies. The 3 x 3 option goes for ($28).

I would suggest that you visit them unless you hate to eat cold food, or you dislike japanese food. Otherwise there is no reason for you not to visit! Haha.
